About the NYC WITCH HUNT

close X

Fat Witch is decidedly a New York City bakery - where else would a name like ours be okay? I've created a new blog called Witch Hunt so I can share my New York with you.

Behind the Cauldron spills the latest bakery news.
Big Apple Bites covers restaurants, food products and events.
NYCulture highlights art and city happenings.
Witch List compiles old favorites and newfound stuff worthy of a shout-out.

There will be no "pay to play." In fact, most of what makes the cut won't know in advance of posting. Have a suggestion for something that makes NYC a great city? Share it with us at witchhunt@fatwitch.com.

Double Chocolate Witch

Brooklyn is now the go-to place for foodies. Fat Witch isn’t in Brooklyn yet, but we recommend taking along our new Double Chocolate Witch for your tour of NYC’s “other” borough. Even Manhattanites are venturing off their island to see what the fuss is all about.

Smorgasburg

Brooklyn’s artisanal food scene is booming. Sample a smorgasbord of rising stars at Smorgasburg, a weekend food and flea market now with several locations. Waterfront in Williamsburg is the largest, but the new market under the Brooklyn Bridge is landmark cool.

Brooklyn Museum

The Brooklyn Museum is often called the “mini Met” after its larger Manhattan counterpart, the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Both contain notable permanent collections of Egyptian art, but only in Brooklyn can you catch Gravity and Grace, a beautiful exhibit of monumental sculptures by African artist El Anatsui.

Brooklyn Bowl

Bowling is back in style and Williamsburg, Brooklyn keeps getting cooler. Combine the best of both with a night out at Brooklyn Bowl. Housed in an old iron works facility, these 16 lanes also
offer local food, drink and live
music. Everything old is new
again.
